About

Graduating from Camberwell College of Arts in 2017, Madeleine Atropa is a multidisciplinary artist based in the North-West of England.

Drawing on a seemingly random array of references - from pop music and underground culture to horror movies and folklore - Madeleine alternates between various personas and explores what it means to be human in an increasingly alien world. Her current work lives in the realm of a cartoonish and violent hyper-feminine state, which is the result of her own personal battle with identity and girlhood.

Her line of hand painted masks, Haus of Vulpes, has just launched it’s debut collection.

Alongside her artistic practice she is also a writer and has written for publications such as The Starry Door and The Everyday Magazine.
